Oceaneering International, Morgan City, Louisiana

Lagniappe Environmental was retained in 2003 by Diamond Cut Services, then Oceaneering International, to conduct a Phase I ESA, Phase II ESA, Extended Phase II ESA, RECAP Assessment and a Voluntary Remediation Plan (VRP) for the 40-acre former oilfield support facility. The subject site is located at 5004 Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, Louisiana. LE conducted the various Phase I and II studies, then the RECAP Investigation, installing over 50 boreholes and identified one Area of Investigation (AOI), which was composed of Diesel contaminated soil at a depth of 6 feet. Lagniappe Environmental then submitted the VRP, which called for the excavation of the Diesel contaminated soil in two-foot lifts and the recovering of the area with clean fill.

LE selected Ranger Environmental to complete the VRP. LE then provided construction oversight for the VRP, completing the $15,000 construction project on budget. Approximately 40 yards of contaminated soil were excavated and the area covered. After the VRP report was approved by the DEQ, a conveyance notice was recorded with the City of Morgan City. The Certificate of Completion was then issued by the DEQ. The entire cost for the project totaled about $100,000.
