Farley & Sathers, New Orleans, Louisiana
Lagniappe Environmental was retained in 2004 by Farley & Sathers to prepare a RECAP Assessment and a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) for the 4.5-acre former candy production facility. The subject site was located at 2519 Agriculture Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. LE conducted the RECAP Investigation, installing over 15 boreholes and identified one Area of Investigation (AOI), which was composed of lead contaminated soil under a parking lot.  LE then submitted the CAP, which called for the breakage of concrete at the contaminated concrete parking lot area, excavation of the lead contaminated soil in two-foot lifts and the recovering of the parking lot by concrete.

Lagniappe Environmental selected Ranger Environmental to complete the CAP. LE then provided construction oversight for the CAP, completing the $20,000 construction project on budget. Approximately 40 yards of contaminated soil were excavated and the concrete parking lot was recovered with concrete. After the CAP report was approved by the DEQ, a conveyance notice was recorded with the City of New Orleans. The Certificate of Completion was then issued by the DEQ. The entire costs for the project totaled about $35,000 and took approximately 13 months to complete.
